Sub : INCREASE IN CANTEEN SUBSIDY FOR EMPLOYEES & OFFICEERS.

Our Bank is providing canteen subsidy to all the employees and officers at Rs.75/- per month per employee at all branches.

The limit has been fixed long back and the cost has substantially increased in the recent past. For example the cost of coffee/Tea in Metropolitan Cities like Delhi, Chennai, has gone up and is now costing nearly Rs.22/- per cup. Like wise the cost of many food items have gone up substantially and the limit fixed is quite inadequate.

Other Nationalised Banks like SBI, UBI and Central Bank of India are paying monthly canteen allowance of the amount ranging from Rs. 300 to Rs. 500/-. Even small banks like Karnataka Bank Limited, the limit is Rs.750/- per month which has a business of 10 times lesser than our Bank.

We therefore request you to consider our request for increase in the canteen subsidy amount from Rs. 75 per month to Rs.500/- per month. This will enhance the morale and motivation of the entire work force.
